Hi! My name is Alissa Trowbridge and I've been paper crafting and scrapbooking for about five years.
My hobby started as a creative outlet and a way to preserve photos and memories, but it has become so much more.
Currently, I'm honored to serve on the 2006 Polar Bear Press Design Team. I'm also a design team member and the newsletter coordinator for an online scrapbook kit club. I've been hired professionally to make scrapbooks, party invitations and stationary.
Just recently, I began submitting my work to trade magazines. I'm excited to say I have a couple projects slated to be published later this year! In addition to scrapbooking, card making and altering, I love to write. I have a couple scrapbooking-related articles in the works scheduled to be published in 2006.
Fellow scrapbookers often ask me to describe my scrapping style. I'd say it's clean and simple with a twist. I love to keep up with trends in the industry and try out new techniques, but prefer not to spend days on an individual layout. I tend to use one or two trendy techniques and/or products and keep the rest of my page simple. Therefore, I think my style is very versatile and easy to scrap-lift for the average hobbyist.
I'm thrilled India and Nonna invited me to design for Scrapbook Mania! We have some wonderful things coming your way and I'm excited to share in this hobby with you!

My name is Maelynn Cheung. I am very excited to be teaching classes and designing for Scrapbook Mania!
I am a 38-year-young single mom of an awesome and energetic 10-year-old boy. It is because of him, and the thousands of photos I had stashed around my house in photo boxes, that I first became drawn to scrapbooking.
I've always had a passion for anything creative - oil painting at age eight, stationary design at 12, and greeting cards at 16. Years later, after earning a marketing degree and working at an ad agency, I went back to school for a degree in graphic design. Art school was fantastic! And it applies so well now to my scrapbooking. My handwriting changes from month to month, and so does my scrapbooking style.
I like the trendy products and enjoy trying new techniques and looks for my layouts. I’ve been published in PaperARTS magazine, Scrapbook Trends, and an article in Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine. I teach scrapbooking classes, and am a design team member for Sakura/Gelly Roll, Frances Meyer, and ScrapNfonts.com. I wrote a book, Doodling for Papercrafters, which was published by Leisure Arts in 2007.
I love to look at all the wonderful layouts and off-the-page items people create, love to learn from people, and I hope along the way I'll have a chance to inspire people, too. I look forward to meeting you at Scrapbook Mania!

Hello! I’m Misty Posey from Decatur, AL. It was very exciting to have India call me out of the blue and invite me to be apart of Scrapbook Mania’s design team. After visiting with her and Nonna, I feel this is going to be a fun and wonderful experience. Scrapbook Mania is a beautiful store with loads to offer and I can’t wait to get to know everyone and see old pals. My best scrap pals are from the Pelham and Calera area, so I already feel right at home.
A little about me. I married my high-school sweetheart and we have two daughters. Taylor is our oldest, almost a teen, and Hannah-Claire is our rotten seven year old “daddy’s girl”, neither being a bit shy of the camera.
I started scrapbooking in August 2002. It was then a pen pal of mine from Texas introduced me to scrapping. From there I stopped buy stamps and started buying scrap supplies. A little over a year later I started submitting my layouts and altered art to magazines. You may have seen some of my work in Legacy, Memory Makers, Paperkuts, and others. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with other great designers on a few previous design teams over the past couple of years. 2004 is when I started teaching classes at scrapbook retreats and other scrapbook stores.
I love to create pages using many color pallets from neutrals to the brightest of bright. I feel like my style ranges from having a little rustic charm to 70’s chic. My pages all depend on my mood. I love to learn what I don’t know and teach what I do. Scrapbooking is the medicine that keeps me sane.
Our pictures will tell the stories for future generations, why not embellish them in the present!
Again…Thanks for the terrific opportunity. See you all soon at Scrapbook Mania!

Hi! My name is La Tonya Boike and I'm a SAHM turned professional crafter. I've been scrapbooking since 2002. Currently, I serve on the 2007 One Heart One Mind Design Team and the Masterpiece Stemma Design Team. I'm very excited to be designing and teaching classes for Scrapbook Mania and look forward to getting to know everyone.
I've taught numerous scrapbook classes on topics such as altered mini albums, altered canvas', layouts and more. I've been told my style is eclectic and I suppose it's true. While I love adding non-scrapbooking items to my pages and art to create a shabby chic feel, I believe it is important to produce layouts drawing more focus to the photo, which sometimes require clean, simple lines. I am very versatile and enjoy experimenting with new techniques, and am always striving to reach new levels of artistry.
I've been published in several different scrapbook magazines and books. I also write bible class curriculums for ages 2-13. And, I play keyboards/piano in a band with my husband.

Hello! My name is Nonna Tindal and I am a wife, foster mom, designer, instructor, originally from Hoover, AL now living in Bessemer. I've been married to my wonderful husband Robby for 14 years. I currently work as food service director and wedding coordinator for First United Methodist Church - B'ham where I'm an active member.
I don't feel I have a particular style in paper crafting and/or scrapbooking. (I let the pictures or projects determine what style I use.) I don't think you can use to many techniques on a page or project. Okay, maybe that is my style. (haha) My scrapbooking heroes are Maelynn Cheung, Tim Holtz, & Jenny Bowlin.
I have been a designer and teacher for Scrapbook Mania and truly enjoy it and have been scrapbooking and paper crafting for 10 years. I also love altered art. I think I got my start in grade school when I developed a passion for ceramics, painting murals, and pottery. Some of my influences, interest and hobbies are old movies, (Betty Davis, Joan Crawford, Joseph Cotton, and Norma Sheer), antiquing, and looking for that rare find at flea markets. I also love to read classics, murder mysteries, love stories, and biographies. I also do freelance scrapbooking and projects under the name Nonna Tindal Studio.

Hi y’all! I am Ruth Ellen Yeager and I am a scrap-addict through and through!! Sometimes I wonder which part I enjoy more - the scrapping or the scrappy shopping! I mean what is not to love about this great hobby!
To tell you a little bit about myself, I was born and raised right here in Birmingham, Alabama. In my former life, I was a Labor and Delivery nurse and then later went back to school to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been happily married to my husband Grey for almost ten years and we have two beautiful little girls 6 and 3 1/2. Since the children were born, I have been fortunate enough to be a SAHM which I love more than anything in the world. My girls are my inspiration and there is nothing I enjoy more than taking pictures of them.
I discovered scrapbooking about 10 years ago when I received a scrapping starter set as a wedding present and a gift certificate to a Creative Memories workshop. I was instantly hooked although it wasn't until I had children that I discovered Quickutz and of course, the rest is history! I tend to spend more time scrapping the every day moments rather than big events. I enjoy being able to just sit down and scrap a page here and there. It really helps keep scrapping fun and stress-free for me if I don't feel the "pressure" to finish an entire album. I am so thrilled to be working with India at Scrapbook Mania and I look forward to sharing my love for Quickutz with everyone!!
